Ilkay Holt has been working the areas of open access, electronic resource management and open access for many years. Holt is a librarian by training, worked in university libraries in Turkey, served as a library director for over eight years. In ten years of this journey, she also worked in the Turkish National University Library Consortium (ANKOS) serving in open access and licensing groups as well the steering committee. Since the summer 2016, she has been a freelance consultant in the library and information management sector in London, UK. Currently, she works for Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. At COAR, she is involved in international alignment and capacity development activities for the global repository network in EC-funded OpenAIRE H2020 and Advance projects. At FAO, she works for DFID-funded GODAN Action project and the Reserch4Life Initiative, particularly involved in capacity development activities. In addition, Holt is Creative Commons Global Network Member and co-chair of Research Data Alliance BoF Group on Agricultural Science Indicators.
